Our Community of Giving
Bringing Awareness to the Brain Tumor Community
1893 is honored to support the American Brain Tumor Association (ABTA), a cause very close to our hearts. The ABTA is a steadfast advocate on behalf of the brain tumor community in the United States, and helps patients, caregivers, and their loved ones as they navigate the brain tumor journey.
The team is directly involved in planning and sponsoring the Juliana-Brandon ABTA Memorial Golf Classic, which honors two individuals directly impacted by the disease. This event helps promote brain tumor awareness and benefits the Association directly. We look forward to continuing to find ways to shine a spotlight on the Association, their impactful research, and direct family support.
Impacting the Fight Against Childhood Cancer
1893 is proud to actively support Northwestern Mutual–Chicago's Childhood Cancer Program. Every day, 720 kids are diagnosed with cancer. We're committed to giving all kids the chance to live life to the fullest by accelerating the search for a cure to pediatric cancer while providing support to families battling the disease and survivors struggling with treatment side effects.
Each summer we join our fellow Northwestern Mutual – Chicago financial professionals and associates in raising thousands of dollars to support Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer Research at our golf outing and dinner auction. We are inspired by the new fundraising milestones we reach as our event grows bigger each year.
Joining The American Cancer Society in Defeating Cancer
1893 is proud to actively support The Coaches vs. Cancer program, which unites coaches and fans nationwide to help the American Cancer Society defeat a common enemy – cancer. The incredible impact of Coaches vs. Cancer has been felt in communities nationwide.
Through fundraising and education initiatives, the Coaches vs. Cancer program has supported the American Cancer Society in their efforts to save lives from cancer in the US and worldwide. From acting as chair of the National Golf Outing and Circle of Honor Dinner to attending the outing and reception, our team will continue to fight against cancer.
